The Audax Holster Aware is a brand-new solution that detects whether a handgun, non-lethal weapon, CED (Conducted Energy Device) or PAVA Spray has been removed from a holster worn by the body worn camera wearer.  This new feature is now available across Audax’s range of pioneering Body Worn Video (BWV) cameras.

Audax have been pioneers in body worn video (BWV) technology for the past few decades. Once again, with the release of the Audax Holster Aware the BWV experts are leading the field with ground-breaking features that will change the way in which security and emergency service workers are protected.

Designed to minimise the number of actions a camera wearer must take, Audax’s Holster Aware Sensor recognises the presence of a firearm (or a non-lethal weapon, CED or PAVA Spray) within a holster and will trigger recording to begin via Bluetooth wireless technology to an Audax Bluetooth-enabled camera if this item is removed or inserted.

Before this technology, these workers would need to press the recording button on their BWV camera in order to capture the event and securely store it, however, if the camera wearer is faced with a situation where they must draw their weapon, the pressing of a button will likely be impossible. However, without this vital recorded evidence, prosecuting criminals can be tricky. That’s why this innovative technology is so important.

With Audax Holster Aware, the officer or security personnel wearing the camera does not need to worry about pressing a button to begin recording, as the removal of the weapon from the holster will do this automatically. This simple action could potentially save crucial time and capture valuable evidence.

Using wireless Bluetooth technology, the sensor pairs and connects to the nearest Audax camera in a 10m range, providing instant recording initiation on the BWV camera. This level of connectivity also enables an audit report to be generated in Audax DEMS to log every instance a sidearm has been drawn from a holster.

Adam Liardet, Managing Director of Audax comment: “At Audax, we are always looking for new ways to enhance operational capability in the field. This innovative new feature was designed to prioritise the safety of the emergency services and security professionals, along with other BWV users.”

Audax – worldwide leaders in Body Worn Video technology – will continue to use their extensive experience and knowledge to develop and advance their products, and increase the safety of those who wear them.

Audax®, the world-leading pioneers of body-word video technology are continuing their fight against aggression towards law enforcement and emergency service personnel by once again sponsoring the SPOED 112 Anti-Aggression Symposium, taking place on 27th October 2021 in Antwerp, Belgium.

With a worrying trend of increasing hostility, aggression and violence towards the police and emergency services workers in Brussels, the UK and further afield, SPOED 112 alongside headline sponsor Audax® are hosting their annual symposium, focused on raising awareness of their anti-aggression campaign, as well as championing solutions that counter violence within this industry.

The full-day event, which is set to take place at the Provincial House in Antwerp Belgium, will see a line-up of influential speakers, stands and demonstrations of the Audax Body Worn Video (BWV) technology. The event hopes to educate and arm individuals, with the aim of combatting the worrying aggression phenomenon.

Appropriately retained as the headline sponsor, Audax BWV technology offers solutions that are proven to mitigate the risk of aggression and violence within the law enforcement and emergency services sectors – and its requirement is increasing. As highlighted in the latest issue of SPOED magazine, further sectors are now showing an interest in using BWV technology thanks to their broad range of applications.

In addition to police, ambulance workers and fire services, the technology can also be used for public transport, event security and military personnel. The primary reasons for using body worn cameras are to increase the safety of frontline workers by deescalating confrontations and for the gathering of impartial, accurate evidence that can be used to educate, inform or prosecute.  It also improves policy and transparency in terms of relationships with the public, while also reducing offender complaints and speeding up the administration of justice.

As the prime sponsor, Audax are keen to play an active role alongside SPOED 122 to ‘aid those who help us’ in the UK, Belgium and across Europe. Adam Liardet, Founder and Owner of Audax said, “We have long been committed to protecting the emergency services sector against aggression and abuse. No other company has been as active as Audax® in trying to stamp out this ‘horrific plague’ of behaviour in Belgium and even globally, and we are proud to once again support an initiative that we are truly passionate about. Furthermore, the use of body worn cameras promotes transparency and openness, which inevitably leads to improved officer performance and increased public confidence in national policing.”

Audax are looking forward to supporting the SPOED 112 symposium on 27th October 2021 at the Auditorium Provinciehuis Antwerpen. More information about the event can be found at:

Audax Global Solutions Ltd, world leaders in pioneering body worn video (BWV) technology, today announced that it had received notification that it will receive an order to provide 20,000 Audax® Bio-AX® cameras to a national police force. The roll-out of body worn cameras, valued at approx. £13.2 million ($17M / €15.2M), ranks as globally significant and is expected to start in December 2021 with final delivery completed by May 2022.

The Cameras will be deployed to assist in the Government’s aim to modernise policing, assisting with border protection and assisting security operatives dealing with organised crime. Adam Liardet, Founder and Owner of Audax said, “The use of body worn cameras promotes transparency and openness, which inevitably leads to improved officer performance and increased public confidence in national policing. We are privileged to be chosen to assist and look forward to working with our local assembly partner for further projects in the region.”

Audax will be working alongside their in-country technology partner to manage the deployment. This partner will be assisting in the final assembly of key components of the Bio-AX® system in country, with support provided directly by the Audax team. This collaborative approach will provide skilled jobs to locals in the region and facilitate the transfer of technical skills.

The rugged, all-in-one, Bio-AX® camera is designed to protect both the police and the public with its intuitive recording function and live streaming of securely encrypted video. The camera’s internal GPS provides location on the video and live asset tracking is possible via mapping in the control room. A unique innovation of the Bio-AX® camera is the ability for staff in the control room to turn on the live stream remotely. This feature not only provides managers with visibility and situational awareness of their assets ‘on the ground’, but also ensures complete oversight for compliance and professional standards. These features make Bio-AX® a valuable tool to ensure professionalism. The product offers superior battery technology, which provides world-beating live streaming and recording durations.

Once completed, this will be the latest in a series of global body worn camera deployments, with both public authorities and law enforcement. Additional deployments include: 8000 cameras to Vietnam, numerous Councils and private security firms in the UK, a large volume of local police users in France and other users in several EU nations as well as the USA.

Audax is looking forward to sharing further details of this exciting project in the coming weeks.

Audax, world leaders in pioneering body worn video (BWV) technology, is collaborating once again with SPOED 112 to raise awareness and promote action to prevent aggression against Police & Emergency Medical Service (EMS) workers in Belgium.

Having proudly been a direct sponsor of the last two aggression against EMS awareness campaigns with SPOED 112, the UK based company is now set to be the presenting partner at a symposium in Antwerp on violence against emergency workers and police on 27th October 2021.

Audax is keen to play an active role alongside SPOED 112 to ‘aid those who help us’ in the UK, in Belgium and elsewhere as body worn cameras are a proven solution to mitigate the risk of aggression and violence within the sector. In addition to headline event sponsorship, Audax will be carrying out demonstrations of its BWV technology for attendees.

As featured in the latest issue of SPOED magazine, more and more emergency services and law enforcement workers are equipped with bodycams. In fact, other sectors are also showing interest in utilising body worn video due to their broad range of applications.

In addition to traditional users, such as police, ambulance, and fire brigades, they can also be used for public transport, event security as well as during military operations. In the Netherlands and Belgium, bodycams are especially useful for recording evidence and discouraging undesirable behaviour, but they are also particularly useful as a training tool to replay live incidents to new operatives.

Audax has a long-standing relationship with SPOED 112, with a review featured in its latest quarterly publication:

“The Audax bodyworn camera, at first glance could be considered as ‘an expensive toy’. But, if you take a closer look and hold it in your hands, you will notice how compact it is. It fits in your hand, it is light and easy to attach to a jacket, plate carrier, t-shirt etc. … For the rest, the bodycam fully meets all expectations: Razor sharp images, quality audio and even night vision is no problem at all! Photos, videos, pictures while filming – it’s all possible. Being active in the security sector and recently graduated as an emergency response worker, this body worn camera is a must have in case of aggression and incidents.” – Review by Kevin F. from Gent (featured in SPOEDmagazine edition 03 2021).

Audax is also the prime sponsor of the Ambulance Union, (Ambulanciersunie) and have long been committed to stamping out negative behaviour against emergency services workers in Belgium and across Europe.

The company is looking forward to showing their support for this important initiative at the SPOED 112 symposium on 27th October 2021 taking place in Antwerpen. Alongside presentations and live demonstrations, every attendee to the symposium will receive a training certificate and lunch is provided. For more information, visit SPOED112.com.

Body Worn Video (BWV) technology specialists and industry pioneers, Audax® who are based in the UK, are celebrating once again after winning another major contract to supply the Police in Vietnam with Audax® cameras.

Adam Liardet, Managing Director of Audax®, said: “as a result of a careful procurement selection process by our customer alongside the huge success of previous projects, the Police in Vietnam are boosting their inventory with more of our cameras.”

“Ensuring our cameras are robust and durable for all British climatic conditions is one thing, but they have also proved to meet the demanding conditions and requirements of our customers in more ‘exotic’ locations.  Audax® products have been used globally by the emergency services on the frontline for nearly 20 years. Our years of experience in dealing with Police forces and security professionals worldwide have greatly contributed to the design and development of the products we offer today.”

Headquartered in Plymouth, with satellite offices in Canterbury and Brussels, the Audax® team is predominantly composed of service veterans. The company design and develop products and perform all final assembly, testing and quality control functions in their Plymouth facility. As such, Audax® is an approved Members of Made in Britain, the register of British Manufacturers.

With a large front record button, the devices are simpler to operate, and unlike other cameras used by some UK Police forces, the video review screen is on the rear of the camera, so it is not as easily damaged. It also doesn’t require linking to a mobile phone. Audax body worn video cameras have a longer life battery and can be used in the dark as they include built-in IR lamps. They also feature GPS for location pinpointing and are both significantly lighter and more robust to cope with the climate.

Mr Liardet, adds: “Our products are designed to be secure so evidence can’t be manipulated or tampered with, and they protect members of the public just as much as they protect officers from false allegations. They are independently tested and certified in both Europe and the USA for use in dynamic environments.”

“We have shipped nearly 8,000 cameras to Vietnam in the last two years. As a result of this, and our other customers recognising our ‘Made in Britain’ quality, we have not only avoided furloughing any staff but have even recruited new staff members to the team this year. Furthermore, demand is so strong that we have had to double our floor space in Plymouth.”
